30 gestational week
30 gestational week corresponds to the 7th month of pregnancy and falls in the third trimester. During this gestational week in the womb of the expectant mother is already practically formed a person who has his own habits and reactions. The best thing is that work no longer prevents the pregnant woman from focusing on her condition. Last but not least in importance – the term is getting closer. With each passing day, the child is actively preparing herself to perform her first movements and inhalations/exhalations on her own.
Fetal size and development at 30 weeks gestation
- Height – 39.9 cm.
- Weight – 1.3 kg.
- Head circumference – 27.4 cm.
- Abdominal circumference – 26.2 cm.
It has grown to about 1.3 kg. in relation and is almost 40 cm. tall. Its head circumference is now 27.4 cm and belly circumference 26.2 cm. His mother’s abdomen is getting tighter and the opportunities for vigorous activity are diminishing.
Along with this, refinement is taking place. All organs and systems are formed. The brain continues to develop, its mass increases, and the folds are clearly visible during ultrasound examination.
It is said that at this stage of pregnancy, the child is able to remember the sensations in the mother’s womb and what he hears. When a sound is repeated repeatedly, it responds calmly.
One of the signs that suggest that the child is ready to come into the world is by determining the density of the cartilage of his ears. However, the fetus is still determined to be premature.
The nails on his fingers are very tender and soft. Not all the organs of the genital system have taken their rightful places. The thickness of the placenta reaches 30.48 mm. As before, it provides the future child with all the necessary nutrients.
What does a pregnant woman feel during the thirtieth gestational week?
More frequent appointments with the gynecologist begin – they can be weekly or biweekly.
During the 30th gestational week, the abdomen grows at an elusive pace. The uterus continues to rise and its bottom is almost at the middle of the abdomen. This can provoke unpleasant sensations because of the pressure on the internal organs.
Constipation and heartburn are common. They can worsen the mood of the pregnant woman, who, to alleviate her condition, will have to limit even the consumption of foods she likes. For example, fried potatoes for dinner.
At night, in addition to struggling for a comfortable sleeping posture, you may face frequent stiffness of the limbs. It is no longer advisable to sleep on your stomach, as this impairs the blood supply to the placenta.
The best resting posture is in a sitting position with the feet elevated on a pillow, at a 45 degree angle. In the evening it is advisable to sleep on your side. According to specialists – mostly on the right side.
The good news is that you feel almost every movement of your future baby. It already feels that it is narrow. If it hasn’t moved its head down, it will soon enough. Keep monitoring the frequency of your child’s movements – during daylight hours they should be no less than 10.
It’s normal to be thinking about labour as term approaches. Avoid moments of panic and prepare yourself mentally and physically. If there are still questions whose answers are unknown, ask them to the doctor.
For optimal preparation for childbirth, it is recommended to perform gentle stretching movements in the pelvic area.
Awareness is a woman’s strongest weapon when she is about to give birth.
As before, continue to observe the characteristics of the vaginal currents. Any deviation from the norm is a reason to consult a doctor.
If they are light and insignificant in volume, everything is normal. White color, pus or blood are a clear signal that you need urgent help.
If the amniotic fluid starts leaking, do not hesitate to go to the doctor. There is a risk of infection of the decidua.
The presence of bleeding can be a sign of a problem with the placenta.
The menu of a pregnant woman in 30 gestational week
One of the basic rules from now on is not to consume raw food. The exception is fruits and vegetables, which should be well washed.
The rule covers milk, eggs, meat, fish and other products that have not undergone heat treatment.
Even uncooked water can cause bowel problems. Be careful!
Experimentation with exotic fruits and atypical foods is not recommended at this stage of pregnancy. Postpone trying them for a few months. Now the most important is the health of the future baby.
What is seen on ultrasound?
During an ultrasound examination, the doctor will once again make sure of the normal development of the fetus. Regular checkups should account for the absence/presence of genetic diseases or abnormalities.
All the systems in the child’s body are formed. His facial features are increasingly developing. Already the face is rounder, the cheeks are clearly distinguishable, as well as the ears, eyes with eyelashes, hands, feet and all elements of them. The brain continues to develop and the depth of the folds increases.
Move on to the 29th gestational week or the 31st gestational week
